Bollywood Freestyle dancing teaches you to have good beat attention. The ability to spontaneously come up with movements that suit the musical circumstances. Music gives off a feeling, an attitude and a message. At any point in the music, we have a depiction of what it means, how it makes us feel and how we personally react to it. Bollywood Freestyle is about conveying that feeling through the medium of movement.
With free-styling, our task is to specifically employ the mind to use the body as an expressive instrument while simultaneously, receptively and effectively allowing the body to be responsive to the expressive mind. Through this connection we can physically show that we not only know and understand the music by being in sync with it, but also that we can bring across our own thoughts and angle on it. Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest dance forms in India. Its roots can be traced back to the Dasiattam dance traditions of Tamil Nadu in South India. This style of dance, as an art form, was nurtured in the temples and received the patronage of the royal courts in South India for centuries.
The name "Bharatanatyam" has two distinct roots. One is its reference to Bharata, the author of the Natyashatra, the ancient Sanskrit text that serves as a guidebook to classical dancers even to the present day. Broken up into three syllables, 'bha', 'ra', 'ta', it also refers to three important aspects of the form:bhava (mood), rasa (sentiment), and tala (rhythm or cadence)
Derived from the Sankrit word "yuj" which means "to unite or integrate"; yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Yoga is all about harmonizing the body with the mind and breath through the means of various breathing techniques, yoga postures (asanas) and meditation. Yoga is the physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which aim at transforming body and mind.
